Growing up in The Gambia, I didn't get to see quite a number of female automobile engineers. That was quite a disappointment for me because I always had this thrill for fixing cars. So I decided to be an automobile engineer to break the gender gap.

The Team

My name is Lena Mendy and I am an automobile engineer. I studied at Gambia Technical Training Institute after graduating High School from St. Peters Technical Senior Secondary School. I'm currently doing my attachment at the Gambia Ports Authority. I am passionate about repairing vehicles and getting them back on the road.
