Illegal dumping is like a plague to Diepsloot. Trucks from the suburbs in North Johannesburg come to Diepsloot to dump waste illegally. This has transformed the township from a beautiful, clean area to a place where waste has found a place to call home. This has enormous consequences for the township’s residents. Apart from having a negative impact on both health and economic welfare, children are forced to play on the streets instead of in public parks.

The Team

Boombadotmobi consists of a dedicated team of young individuals who have invested their varying skills to improving the well-being of the environment in they live. Their skills vary from accountants, digital marketers, sales, communication and logistics waste collectors. We have of late brought to the mix (in the form of partnership) carpenters, welders, handyman and waste recyclers to help complement our vision to complete the circle of waste; this helps with making sure that items such as wood, metal can be fixed and put back to the people for reuse. As an organization, we believe in the value of forging collaborations as it promotes inclusivity and allows for co-creation.
